The idea behind the series.
Most of the children's travel shelf is listicle books: numbered facts, stock photos, and copy assembled without much feeling for the places. There is room on that shelf for something slower.
A book that reads like a story, where the child is the traveler: you crest the hill and Finland opens up below you, you step off the boat in Norway, you smell the cardamom in an Indian market. Narrative nonfiction, fact-checked, written for the age it serves.
The name is the feeling, not an announcement: no airplanes, no boarding passes. The moment a new place opens up in front of you. The first glimpse.
Each book starts with a research dossier on one country: land, history, language, daily life, food, celebrations. The manuscript is drafted chapter by chapter, then every factual claim (every number, date and superlative) is extracted and verified against two independent sources. The text passes reading-level gates for its grade band, and sensitive cultural content gets an explicit review pass. Only then does it become a book.
Every book in the Now Arriving series is made with the help of artificial intelligence. The words and pictures are generated with AI tools. A human steers the whole process: the author plans, fact-checks, reviews, and approves every page before the book is published. Working this way keeps the price low, and lets a new country arrive quickly.
We include this because we think it should be easy to know what you're handing your kid.
More countries, the Grades 1–2 edition of every book, and customized single-reader editions. If you'd like a country we haven't reached yet, or want to tell us what your kid loved, write to us.
